Rehearsals

Terms 1-4
Tuesday 12:55pm - 1:45pm in PAC

Term 2 Weeks 1-6
(Combined rehearsal with Hearts Chor)
Monday 3:30pm - 4:30pm in PAC

Open Heart Symphony is for anyone who loves to sing and wants to have a great time making music and developing their voice in a fun and supportive environment. We perform barbershop and choral repertoire, jazz and pop arrangements and will participate in both the Barbershop Young Singers in Harmony Regional Contest (held in May) and The Big Sing (held in June).

All abilities welcome
No audition
1 hour weekly practice, increasing to 2 hours weekly in the lead up to the competitions
Opportunity for breakout Barbershop Quartets with individual coaching

Cost: $12.00 NZD

The membership fee for Barbershop Chorus and Choir contributes towards a badge, a music workshop, and sheet music.

Competition and Event Charges:

Competitions and events will be charged separately, with permission and payment due before the event.

Terms:

When you become a member of Barbershop Chorus and Choir you must be fully committed to the group and attend every rehearsal and event/competition. You are expected to tell the teacher in charge if you are unable to attend any practices.
Appropriate school behaviour and school attendance standards are a requirement for a student to participate in extra-curricular activities.
