We had a very successful first year of Floorball in 2024, so we will continue to offer Floorball as a sport at Sacred Heart. In 2025 we will have a team playing in the NZSS Floorball Cup.

Floorball is a fast, safe and fun type of indoor hockey, played with lightweight sticks and a hollow plastic ball. A great sport for hockey players in the off-season! There are a few rules, mainly to make it a safe sport for everyone, and no protective gear is required.

There will be no official trainings, students are encouraged to join a local club's trainings if they would like to train. The students will be playing in the Lower Hutt Floorball league. 

• Game Day: Wednesdays - Term 1 
• Dates: Starting 5 February 2025
• Times: Between 6.00pm - 9.00pm
• Venue: Walter Nash Stadium, Taita
• Uniform: We will provide shirts. Black shorts and sneakers. 
• Equipment: Sticks and goalkeeping gear provided at the venue
• Ability: All abilities welcome 
• Fee: $60 
• Closing Date: 31 January 2025 (for registration and payment)

The NZSS Floorball cup will be played on the 29 - 30 March at Akau Tangi Sports Centre, Kilbirnie. We will be running trials to select the team - the trial for this event will be on Sunday 23 February   6.30pm - 8.00pm  at Sacred Heart Gym.

NOTE: Appropriate school behaviour and attendance standards are a requirement for a student to participate in extra-curricular activities.
