About STRENGTH & CONDITIONING SESSIONS (SENIORS ONLY) $1

This is to register your interest only. We will only go ahead with this if enough students register.
NOTE: We can take a maximum of 15 students, SENIORS ONLY, so we will work on a first come first served basis - the first 15 to register and pay will be accepted into the programme.
Aimed at the more committed athletes, we have engaged Method who specialise in physiotherapy, physiology and strength conditioning, to provide these sessions that will focus on the following:
1. Developing fundamental movement skills - establish proper technique and form for key primal patterns, promote coordination and balance and develop postural/mechanical strength
2. Develop general strength and endurance to support athletic performance and progressive training and emphasise and educate on how to produce muscular tension
3. Enhance power and reactivity - introduce plyometrics exercises (e.g. box jumps, broad jumps, bounding) and focus on proper landing mechanics and force absorption to reduce injury risk
4. Teach injury prevention techniques - educate on post-workout recovery techniques (e.g. food, foam rolling, stretching), educate on the importance of rest and recovery and create a positive training environment that encourages consistent effort.
- Day: Tuesday mornings before school
- Dates: starting Tuesday 11 February until 1 April, 7 sessions (no session Tuesday 25 March due to summer tournament week)
- Time: 7.00am - 8.00am
- Venue: Sacred Heart Gym
- Uniform: comfortable sports gear
- Ability: committed senior athletes
- Fee: $140 (maximum of 15 places available, the first 15 to register and pay will be accepted into the programme). Use STRENGTH as the payment reference.
- Closing Date: 31 January 2025 (for expression of Interest ONLY)
NOTE: Appropriate school behaviour and attendance standards are a requirement for a student to participate in extra-curricular activities.
