Hearts Chor is for more advanced singers, usually with prior experience and some musicianship skills (e.g. note reading, part-singing, play an instrument or take voice lessons). This choir will be competing at The Big Sing (held in June) for a spot in either the Cadenza festival in Whanganui (held in August) or the prestigious Finale in Christchurch (held in August). Singers in this choir are interested in all aspects of vocal development, and it will be a training ground for future choir leaders.
- Premier competitive choir
- Auditioned
- 2 hours weekly practice, possible extended rehearsal in lead up to competition
- One additional intensive after-school workshop per term
- It is not compulsory for Hearts Chor members to sing in Open Heart Symphony
