Floorball is a fast, safe and fun type of indoor hockey, played with lightweight sticks and a hollow plastic ball. A great sport for hockey players in the off-season. There are a few rules, mainly to make it a safe sport for everyone, and no protective gear is required (except for goalies).
In term 1 we play in the Hutt Floorball League on a Wednesday. This is a mixed league.
- Game Day: Wednesdays
- Dates: Starting 4 February 2026 (TBC)
- Times: Between 6.00pm - 9.00pm
- Venue: Walter Nash Stadium, Taita
- Uniform: We will provide shirts. Players to wear own black shorts and sneakers.
- Equipment: Sticks and goalkeeping gear provided at the venue
- Trainings: Monday lunchtimes in the gym (1.30pm - 2.30pm)
- Ability: All abilities welcome
- Fee: $60
Trial Date: Tuesday 3 February from 6.30pm to 8pm in the Sacred Heart Gym.
The NZSS Floorball cup will be played on the 28-29 March at Akau Tangi Sports Centre, Kilbirnie. Our top team will compete in this competition.
NOTE: Appropriate school behaviour and attendance standards are a requirement for a student to participate in extra-curricular activities.
