Originally from Ōtautahi Christchurch, Johnny’s experience as a bass player and educator has been cultivated through performing with many artists around the world. From touring the world with New Zealand’s own Electric Wire Hustle and to living and performing in Toronto Canada, Johnny has extensive experience and versatility that keeps him in high demand.

Currently Johnny is based in Wellington and teaches both privately and at Sacred Heart College and Hutt International Boys School. He records and tours with prominent New Zealand artists such as Louis Baker, Dallas Tamaira, Hollie Smith, Rob Ruha, Fat Freddys Drop and Cory Champions Clear Path Ensemble as well as performing with numerous local acts around Wellington.

In between his regular gigs Johnny is an in demand session bass player and has performed with many artists from around New Zealand and abroad being called up to perform with Allen Stone, Troy Kingi, Myele Manzanza, Jonathan Crayford, Golden Horse and Mara TK just to name a few.
